I mobilize people and organize groups in support of public policies that maximize personal freedoms. My experience is in communications, strategic planning, public policy analysis, fundraising and management. More recently my international work has involved training, mentoring and relationship building.
Current projects include serving as president of both the Canada Strong and Free Network (formerly the Manning Centre); Manning Foundation and CEO/Founder of a new storytelling think tank SecondStreet.org that I run with Colin Craig who serves as the organization's president. I also serve on the boards of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms and Institute for Liberal Studies.
In 2019 I stepped down as chair of the World Taxpayers Associations – an umbrella group of approximately 60 taxpayer organizations on six continents – purposed for networking, best practices exchange, regional forums and support for new organizations. I remain involved as past chair.
Between 1992 and 2018 I served in various capacities with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF), the last ten as president and CEO. Highlights of my time included writing a book on occasion of the CTF’s 25th anniversary, helping found the campus-based initiative Generation Screwed and leading a turnaround of finances that saw a 76% growth in revenues during my tenure of as president.
Prior to the CTF I was National Education Director for the Virginia-based Leadership Institute conducting training programs on university and college campuses across the United States.
