Lawrence was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in San Francisco. After graduating from Stanford University, he attended University of San Francisco Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1975.
He has been admitted to practice before federal district courts in the Northern, Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California, the Southern District of New York and the Districts of Tennessee and Massachusetts, as well as the federal appellate courts for the Second, Fifth, Sixth and Ninth Circuits. He spent ten years affiliated with the Alioto Law Offices specializing in antitrust law before spending the next decade as a partner in the Law Offices of Cannata and Papale in San Francisco.
Lured by the beauty of the Napa Valley, Lawrence moved with his wife and two children to St. Helena in the 1990s where he established the Law Offices of Lawrence G. Papale specializing in an antitrust and business law practice.
With an office on Main Street in a small town in the middle of the Napa Valley, Lawrence’s practice has evolved to include local business, trademark and real estate law while also continuing his involvement in antitrust, unfair competition and trade regulation cases throughout the United States.
His years of experience litigating with Fortune 500 companies and their multi-national law firms has honed skills related to both settlement and trial.
His direct approach to civil litigation emphasizes a cogent, efficient and forceful presentation of the issues to judge and jury.
