The Department of Defense (DoD) determined that, due to evolving requirements and industry advances, the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) Cloud contract no longer meets Department needs. The DoD continues to have unmet cloud capability gaps and the need to address those gaps has only increased in recent years due to the changes in the Department’s cloud requirements as well as the Secretary of Defense’s Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Acceleration (ADA) initiatives.
The DoD will get its much needed enterprise cloud solution through the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability (JWCC), a multi-vendor Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The Department will immediately engage with industry to continue its market research to determine which U.S.-based hyperscale Cloud Service Providers are able to meet the DoD’s requirements for the JWCC.
